The Goldey-Beacom men’s basketball team has now won five straight games as the team defeated the Georgian Court University Lions 68-65 on Wednesday. The win moves the Lightning to a 10-7 overall record and a 6-2 record in the conference ( CACC). Goldey-Beacom also improved their record against the Lions to 16-0.
The leading scorer in the win was junior forward Juran Ligonde, who recorded a double-double with 25 points and 15 rebounds.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win, which was sophomore guard Nazim Derry (14), and sophomore forward Mattia Morini (11).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (34-28), points off of turnovers (13-10), second-chance points (14-12), fast-break points (4-2), turnovers (10-13), and steals (9-5).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 44.3 %( 27-61) and with Georgian Court shooting 43.9 % (25-57).
