The Goldey-Beacom men’s basketball team clinched their fifth straight CACC Tournament berth on Tuesday with a nail-biting 64-63 win over the University of the Sciences Devils. In the Lightning’s last three wins, their average margin of victory is 2.6 points.
The leading scorer in the win was sophomore guard Nazim Derry, who scored 21 points.
Junior forward Juran Ligonde recorded a double-double in the win with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (32-22), second-chance points (11-8), and turnovers (10-12).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 43.1 %( 22-51) and with the University of the Sciences shooting 38.9 %(21-54).
