The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their 14th win of the season on Wednesday as the team defeated the Holy Family University Tigers 80-78 in overtime.
Junior forward Juran Ligonde was the leading scorer for the Lightning in the win as he had a career-high 31 points. Ligonde also had a double-double in the win as he collected 14 rebounds with his 31 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were sophomore guard Nazim Derry (13), and sophomore guard Zack Oree (11).
Sophomore guard Mekhi Collins was right behind Ligonde in the rebounds column in the win as he collected 11.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (40-20), points off of turnovers (25-22), second-chance points (26-10), and rebounds (56-44).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 38.0 %( 27-71) and with Holy Family shooting 37.1 % (23-62).
