The Wilmington University men’s basketball team earned their sixth win of the season on Tuesday as the team defeated the Holy Family University Tigers 70-60.
The leading scorer in the win for the Wildcats was Graduate student guard Danny Walsh, who scored 24 points.
Two other Wildcats scored in double digits, which were junior guard Randy Rickards (15), and sophomore guard Caleb Matthews (10).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included assists (16-11), points in the paint (34-28), and blocks (8-5).
The Wildcats also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 48.0%(24-50) and Holy Family shooting 34.9%(22-63). Wilmington was also the better team at the three-point line in this game as the team shot 46.2%(6-13), and the Tigers shot 25.9% (7-27). WilmU also won the advantage at the free-throw line as the team shot 72.7% (16-22), and Holy Family shot 56.3% (9-16).
