The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team won their eighth game of the season on Tuesday as they defeated their in-state rival, the Wilmington University Wildcats, 70-66. The Lightning also earned their fifth conference win of the season on Tuesday.
The leading scorer in the win was sophomore guard Nazim Derry, who had 18 points.
Senior guard Tyler Jones also scored in double-digits in the win as he had 13 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included second-chance points (15-9), bench points (19-10), and assists (16-11).
The Lightning also held the advantage at the three-point line, with the team having a 47.8% shooting percentage (11-23), and Wilmington had a 25.0% (5-20) shooting percentage.
