The Wilmington University softball team swept their doubleheader against the Bloomfield College Bears on Saturday, as they took a 8-0 win in game one, and came away with a 6-0 win in game two.
We will talk about both games, but first up is the early 8-0 winner!
Game One stats:
RBIs: Graduate student shortstop Lauren Lopez led the team in RBIs in the win with two.
Runs: Sophomore third baseman Lexi Moore led the team in runs scored with three.
Hits: Wilmington had a total of 13 hits in the game. Moore, Lopez, freshman outfielder Gabbie Saucedo, sophomore pitcher/second baseman Haley Downin, and freshman catcher/third baseman Emma Zimmerman led the team in hits in the win with two.
Stolen bases: Moore stole two bases in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, freshman starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel went six innings, gave up four hits, ten strikeouts, and earned the win.
