Rocha’s seventh win of the season helps Wilmington earn a split against Post

The Wilmington University softball team earned a split on Friday in their doubleheader against the Post University Eagles, as the team lost the first game 2-1 and came away with the 4-1 victory in the second game.

Let’s talk about the 4-1 win!

Game Two stats:

RBIs: Senior first baseman Kiersten Comer, freshman outfielder Gabbie Saucedo, sophomore pitcher/second baseman Haley Downin, and graduate student outfielder Courtney Dellinger led the team in RBIs with one.

Runs: Sophomore third baseman Lexi Moore, freshman catcher/third baseman Emma Zimmerman, Comer, and Saucedo led the team in runs scored with one.

Hits: Wilmington had a total of nine hits in the game. Comer and Saucedo led the team in hits in the win with two.

Stolen bases: Freshman catcher/outfielder Tristyn Stewart stole a base in the win.

Pitching: On the pitching side, sophomore starting pitcher Renamarie Rocha went seven innings, gave up seven hits, one run, one earned run, four strikeouts, and earned the win.
