The Delaware State softball team earned a split on Friday in their doubleheader against the Coppin State University Eagles, as the team won the first game 5-4 and lost the second game 13-3.
Let’s talk about the 5-4 win!

Game One stats:
RBIs: Senior outfielder Jonah Cunnigan, freshman catcher/infielder Courtney Kohel, redshirt senior first baseman/pitcher Yanique Spencer, and freshman outfielder Dallas Speicher-Ramirez led the team in RBIs with one.
Runs: Sophomore shortstop Kyla Johnson led the team in runs scored with two.
Hits: Delaware State had a total of seven hits in the game. Spencer led the team in hits in the win with two.
Stolen bases: Cunnigan, Johnson, sophomore outfielder Sydney Glisson, and junior outfielder Felicity Munoz stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, redshirt sophomore starting pitcher Sydney Hoffman went five innings, gave up four hits, three runs, two earned runs, and four walks.
Junior pitcher Emma Glawson would relieve Hoffman, as she went two innings, gave up four hits, one run, and earned the win.
