The Wilmington University softball team swept their doubleheader against the Jefferson University Rams on Thursday, as they took a 4-2 win in game one, and was victorious 7-5 in game two.
We will talk about both games, but first up is the early 4-2 winner!
Game One stats:
RBIs: Freshman center fielder Tristyn Stewart and senior designated player Kiersten Comer led the team in RBIs in the win with one.
Runs: Sophomore pitcher/second baseman Haley Downin, Graduate Student shortstop Lauren Lopez, sophomore outfielder Isabella Eleazar, and sophomore first baseman Sara Miller led the team in runs scored with one.
Hits: Wilmington had a total of seven hits in the game. Stewart led the team in hits in the win with two.
Stolen bases: Stewart and sophomore infielder Danielle Hess each stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, freshman starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel went seven innings, gave up six hits, two runs, two earned runs, nine strikeouts, one home run, and earned the win.
