The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their fourth win of the season on Wednesday with an 83-59 victory over the Cheyney University Wolves.
Freshman forward Zayon Marsh and freshman guard Omari Banks led the team in scoring with 14 points.
Marsh also recorded a double-double in the win, as he collected 11 rebounds.
Three other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were sophomore guard Tyshon Judge (12), junior guard Damani Thomas (12), and junior guard Mekhi Collins(11).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (48-20), points off of turnovers (16-13), fast-break points (11-6), bench points (36-4), rebounds (33-28), turnovers (12-15), blocks (3-0), and steals (9-6).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 61.5 % (32-52) and Cheyney shooting 37.3 % ( 22-59). The Lightning also bested the Wolves from the three-point line, with the team shooting 50.0(5-10) and the Cheyney shooting 25.0 (5-20).
