The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team earned their fifth win of the season on Saturday with an 87-84 victory over Caldwell University Cougars.
Junior guard Ayshion Centeno led Goldey-Beacom in scoring in the win with 22 points.
Freshman forward Zayon Marsh recorded a double-double in the game with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Tyshon Judge also scored in double-digits in the win, as he had 12 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (44-40), second-chance points (16-10), and rebounds (43-38).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 44.4 % (28-63) and Caldwell shooting 43.9 % (29-66). The Lightning also bested the Cougars from the three-point line, with the team shooting 27.8 %(5-18) and Caldwell shooting 26.1 %(6-23). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 81.3 %(26-32), and the Cougars shot 60.6 %(20-33).
