The Wilmington University men’s basketball team kicked the new year off by winning a tough battle over the Holy Family University Tigers on Wednesday with a score of 64-62.
Senior guard Justin Thomas led the Wildcats in scoring in the win with 15 points.
Two other Wildcats who scored in double digits in the win were junior guard Taalib Holloman (11), and sophomore guard Jordan Jackson (13).
Senior guard Randy Rickards was locked on the boards all night, as he led the team with ten rebounds.
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included fast break points (8-4), turnovers (16-17), steals (11-9), and blocks (5-2).
Wilmington University also bested the Tigers from the three-point line, with the team shooting 42.6%(23-54) and Holy Family shooting 36.2% (25-69).
