The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team ended the year 2022 on a high note, as the team defeated the Dominican (NY) University Chargers 81-75 on Saturday.
Senior forward Alexis Harrison led Goldey-Beacom in scoring in the win with 20 points.
Two other Lightning players who scored in double digits in the win were senior forward Alanna Speaks (18), and freshman guard Rory Ciszkowski (17).
Speaks also recorded a double-double in the game, as she collected 11 rebounds.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (30-8), rebounds (43-37), and blocks (3-1).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.0 % (30-60) and Dominican shooting 37.7 % ( 29-77). The Lightning also bested Dominican from the three-point line, with the team shooting 50.0 %(11-22) and the Chargers shooting 31.3 % (10-32).
