The Wilmington University men’s basketball team earned their ninth win of the season on Tuesday as they defeated the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning 59-57.
Junior guard Amiri Stewart led the team in scoring in the win with 12 points.
Senior guard Randy Rickards also scored in double-digits, as he scored ten points.
Sophomore center Nalik Veasley was locked on the boards all night, as he collected 12 rebounds.
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included second-chance points (7-6), turnovers (12-15), steals (6-5), and blocks (5-2).
Wilmington University also bested the Lightning from the three-point line, with the team shooting 28.6%(4-14) and Goldey-Beacom shooting 23.8%(5-21). The Wildcats were also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 76.5%(13-17), and the Lightning shot 40.0%(2-5).
