Five Goldey-Beacom players score in double-digits in an 82-50 win over in-state rival Wilmington University

The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team earned their seventh win of the season on Tuesday with an 82-50 victory over in-state rival the Wilmington University Wildcats.

 Senior forwards Alexis Harrison and Alanna Speaks led the team in scoring with 13 points.

Junior forward Janiya Stevens recorded a double-double in the win with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Two other Lightning players who scored in double digits in the win were freshman guard Rory Ciszkowski (11), and junior guard Zhuri Cannon (10).

The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (34-26), points off of turnovers (26-6), second chance points (16-7), bench points (39-10), assists (15-10), turnovers (7-23), and steals (10-3).

Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 43.1 %(31-72) and Wilmington shooting 38.0 %( 19-50). The Lightning also bested the Wildcats from the three-point line, with the team shooting 32.1 %(9-28) and Wilmington shooting 27.3 % (3-11). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 84.6 %(11-13), and the Wildcats shot 60.0 %(9-15).
