Three Delaware State starters scored in double-digits in a 58-49 win over South Carolina State

The Delaware State University women’s basketball team earned their fourth win of the season on Monday as the team defeated the South Carolina State University Bulldogs 58-47.

Freshman guard/forward Savannah Brooks led the Hornets in scoring in the win with 18 points.

Two other DSU players who scored in double-digits were sophomore forward Tyshonne Tollie (11), and freshman guard Deyonce Thompson  (10).

Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (22-18), turnovers (17-27), and steals (11-6).

The Hornets also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 45.7 % (21-46) and South Carolina State shooting 34.0 % (17-50). Delaware State also bested the Bulldogs from the three-point line, with the team shooting 28.6 % (4-14) and the South Carolina State shooting 25.0 %(4-16). The Hornets were also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 75.0 %(12-16), and the Bulldogs shot 73.3 %(11-15).
