The Goldey-Beacom women’s soccer team earned its second victory of the season on Saturday with a 3-2 win over the  Dominican University of New York Chargers.

Goldey-Beacom leads by one at halftime.

The scoreboard stayed silent for most of the opening half and wasn’t until Senior defender Miley Jones found the net at the 40th minute to set the Lightning up with a 1-0 edge. Sophomore midfielderLanie Pennington assisted on the goal.

The Lightning take home a 3-2 win!

Dominician would light up the scoreboard for the first time in the game at the 54th minute, tying the match up at one.

Then, 20 minutes later, the Chargers had the magic touch again by netting another goal to give them their first lead of the game with a 2-1 score.

Goldey-Beacom charged back in the later minutes of the game, with junior midfielder Tess Pearce finding the net for the first time this year to tie the game at one.

Miley Jones would come up big for Goldey at the 85th minute of the game by scoring her second goal of the game and sealing a 3-2 win for her team. Sophomore forward Maria Fonseca assisted on the goal.
