The University of Delaware’s football team earned their seventh win of the season on Saturday with a blowout victory over the Monmouth University Hawks.
The offensive standouts in the game for Delaware were Graduate student Quarterback Nolan Henderson, senior running back Kyron Cumby, senior wide receiver Jourdan Townsend, Graduate student wide receiver Thyrick Pitts, junior running back Marcus Yarns, and Graduate student wide receiver Chandler Harvin.
Henderson went 22 for 28 with 323 passing yards and five touchdowns in the win. He also rushed for one touchdown in the game.
Cumby rushed for 50 yards on four carries with one touchdown in the win.
Townsend had three receptions for 85 yards with one touchdown in the game.
Pitts had five receptions for 54 yards with one touchdown in the win.
Yarns had two receptions for 35 yards with one touchdown in the game.
Harvin had three receptions for 33 yards with one touchdown in the win.
On the defensive side, Graduate student linebacker Johnny Buchanan led the team in tackles with ten in the win. Delaware’s defense kept the pressure on the Hawks quarterback all game, as the squad had six sacks. They came from senior defensive end Chase McGowan (1.5), fifth-year defensive back Kedrick Whitehead (1), sophomore defensive back Ty Davis (1), fifth-year defensive back Justis Henley, junior defensive lineman Jack Hall (.5), Buchanan (.5), and fifth-year defensive end Tommy Walsh (.5).
Johnny Buchanan also recovered a fumble in the game.
