The Delaware State University’s football team took down one of the HBCU powerhouses on Saturday, with the team earning a 27-24 overtime victory versus the South Carolina State Bulldogs.
The offensive standouts in the game for the Hornets were Redshirt sophomore running back Wade Inge, Redshirt freshman running back Marquis Gillis, Redshirt senior running back Thomas Bertrand-Hudson, and sophomore tight end Myles Morales.
Inge threw a one-yard touchdown pass in the win.
Gillis rushed for 64 yards on 14 carries with one touchdown in the game.
Bertrand-Hudson rushed for nine yards on six carries with one touchdown in the win.
Morales had one reception for one yard with one touchdown.
On the defensive side, sophomore linebacker Aiden Weber was the leader in tackles in the win with 11. Redshirt senior defensive back Charles Peeler grabbed one interception in the game.
