Season Review: Delaware State’s Amya Scott

Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with the Delaware State University women’s basketball team, as the spotlight turns to Freshman point guard Amya Scott.

Scott was third on the team in scoring last year, with 8.5 points per game.

When Delaware State needed a bucket, the Philly native was a reliable target to find, as she recorded double-digits in 14 games. She also posted a 20-point game.

Her season-high in points came on December 29th versus  NJIT, where she had 21 points. Scott made 10 of her 18 shots and hit one of her four free throws.

The DSU point guard knew how to share the wealth, as she was fourth on the team in assists per game with 1.6. She recorded 13 games in which she dished out two or more assists.

Scott’s season-high in assists came on January 22nd in a 67-47 win over South Carolina State, where she dished out five.

Offense wasn’t her only skill, as she was fifth on the team in steals per game with 1.1. Scott had 11 games in which she swiped two or more steals.

Her season-high in steals came on November 24th versus Hampton, where she notched five steals.

Scott averaged 8.5 points per game, 1.6 assists, and 1.1 steals in 30 games.
