Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about Wilmington’s women’s basketball team which will continue with sophomore forward Jadyn Whitsitt.
Whitsitt averaged 11.7 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game in 33.4 minutes per game in 27 games this season. The Wilmington forward was second on the team in points per game this season with 11.7.
The Fort Washington, Maryland native was among the best in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in points per game, as Whitsitt placed in the top 20 (ranked 19th) with 11.7 points per game. The Wilmington sophomore was also in the top 40 ( ranked 35th) in rebounds per game in the CACC with 4.9. Whitsitt also placed in the top 20 ( ranked 19th) in assists per game in the conference with 2.6.

Whitsitt Scores Season-High 25 Points In 83-79 Loss To Mercy
On November 20th, Wilmington would fall 83-79 to Mercy.
Whitsitt scored a season-high 25 points in the loss.
Wilmington Ends 11-Game Losing Streak To Capture First Win
Wildcats would finally cut their 11-game losing streak on January 4th when the team defeated Bloomfield 66-59.
Whitsitt had 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one block in the win.
Wildcats Snap Three-Game Losing Streak With Win Vs Felician
Wilmington needed to find a way to get off a tough three-game losing streak and an 89-59 win over Felician solved just that.
Whitsitt would have five points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal in the game.
WilmU Defeats Nyack 85-76
After going 1-1 at home in the two previous games, the Wildcats picked up an 85-76 road win against Nyack.
The Fort Washington, Maryland native had 20 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two assists in the win against Nyack.
Wilmington Snaps Two-Game Losing Streak With Win Over Chestnut Hill
The Wildcats would bounce back from a tough overtime loss to Post with a 77-67 win against Chestnut Hill.
Whitsitt had 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the win.
Wildcats’ Final Win Of The Season Comes Against Concordia (N.Y.)
Wilmington’s final win of the season would come on February 15th when the team defeated Concordia (N.Y.) 60-50.
Whitsitt would have eight points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals in the final win.
