Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with the Delaware State University women’s basketball team, as the spotlight turns to junior combo guard Jermesha Frierson.
Frieson was second on the team in scoring this season, with nine points a game.
When DSU needed a bucket, Frieson was the one they looked for, as she posted double-digits in 13 games. She notched one 20-point game.
Her season-high in points came on February 21st in a 74-59 win over Morgan State, where she scored 20 points. She made eight of her 17 shots, drained two of her three shots from the three-point line, and hit both of her free throws.
The Louisiana native also had her eye on the boards this year, as she was second on the team in rebounds per game with 3.9. She recorded 24 games in which she collected two or more rebounds.
Frieson’s season high in rebounds came in the February 21st win over Morgan State, where she collected nine.
The Shreveport native knew how to score, but also knew how to get her teammates involved in the action, as she was second on the team in assists per game with 2.5. She had 19 games in which she dished out two or more assists.
Her season-high in assists came on November 22nd in an 83-38 win over St. Mary’s (MD), where she dished out eight.
Offense isn’t the only thing she excels at, as she led the team in steals per game with two. Frierson had 15 games in which she swiped two or more steals.
Her season-high in blocks came on January 8th versus Howard, where she notched seven steals.
Frieson averaged nine points a game, 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and two steals in 28 games.
