The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their 14th win of the season on Friday with a 65-54 victory over the Hofstra University Pride.
Senior center Klarke Sconiers led the Blue Hens in scoring in the win with 16 points.
Three other Hens players who scored in double-digits were Freshman guard Nakiyah Mays-Prince (13), Fifth-year guard/forward Makayla Pippin (12), and junior guard Tara Cousins (10).
UD had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (26-18), second chance points (14-0), bench points (32-20), rebounds (45-28), assists (12-8), and blocks (4-1).
Delaware also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 46.8 % (22-47) and Northeastern shooting 28.3 % ( 17-60). The Blue Hens also bested the Huskies from the three-point line, with the team shooting 35.3 %(6-17) and Northeastern shooting 21.7 %(5-23). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 78.9 %(15-19), and the Huskies shot 75.0 % (15-20).
