The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team earned their tenth win of the season on Saturday with a dominating 98-68 win over the Bloomfield College Bears.
Freshman guard Rory Ciszkowski and senior guard Lexi Weikert led Goldey-Beacom in scoring with 19 points.
Two other Lightning players who scored in double digits in the win were senior forwards Alanna Speaks (16) and Alexis Harrison (15).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (27-12), fast-break points (9-8), assists (27-6), blocks (5-4), and steals (8-7).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 53.1 % (34-64) and Bloomfield shooting 38.9 %(28-72). The Lightning also bested the Bears from the three-point line, with the team shooting 52.8 %(19-36) and Bloomfield shooting 27.3 % (3-11). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 64.7 %(11-17), and the Bears shot 64.3 %(9-14).
