The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their 12th win of the season on Saturday as the team defeated the Northeastern University Howlin Huskies 81-78.
Redshirt junior guard Jameer Nelson Jr. led the Blue Hens in scoring with 21 points.
Three other Hens players who scored in double-digits were junior guard Gianmarco Arletti (18), senior guard Christian Ray (15), and freshman guard Cavan Reilly (14).
Delaware had the advantage in turnovers in the win with nine, and the Huskies had ten.
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 48.1 % (26-54) and Northeastern shooting 45.0 %(27-60). The Blue Hens also bested the Tigers from the three-point line, with the team shooting 50.0 %(7-14) and Huskies shooting 42.3 % (11-26). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 71.0 %(22-31), and Northeastern shot 59.1 %(13-22).
