Delaware records 16th win of the season in thrilling 81-78 victory over Towson

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their 16th victory of the season on Wednesday in a tough battle against the Towson University Tigers in an 81-78 win. Delaware’s winning streak rolls on to six victories with the win over Towson.

The leading scorer for the Blue Hens in the win was Jasmine Dickey, who recorded a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Dickey now has ten double-doubles on the season.

Redshirt junior forward Ty Battle recorded her 15th double-double of the season in the win, as she had 14 points and 13 rebounds. Battle also joined the 1,000 points club in this victory.

 Sophomore guard Tyi Skinner also scored in double-digits in the game with 16 points.

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (36-32), points off of turnovers (16-13), second-chance points (14-2), rebounds (47-45), turnovers (9-13), blocks (5-2), and steals (8-7).

The Blue Hens was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game as the team shot 87.5 %(21-24), and Towson shot 81.8 %(9-11).
