The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team won their fourth game of the season on Monday, as the team defeated the College of Staten Island Dolphins 71-67.
The leading scorer in the win for the Lightning was junior forward Alexis Harrison, who recorded her second double-double of the season with 19 points and ten rebounds.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players scored in double digits, which were sophomore guard Briana Seltzer (12), and junior guard Sarah Round (10).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (34-28), second-chance points (14-7), bench points (21-13), rebounds (39-35), assists (18-13), and blocks (5-2).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 42.2 %( 27-64) and Staten Island shooting 40.4 % (21-52). The Lightning also held the advantage at the free-throw line, with the team having a 73.3 % (11-15) shooting percentage and the Dolphins having a 64.7 %(22-34) shooting percentage.
