The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team won their fifth game of the season on Wednesday, as the team beat the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds 72-62.
The leading scorers in the win for the Lightning were sophomore guard Briana Seltzer and junior guard Mone Izumi, who each scored 14 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players scored in double digits, which were junior forward Alexis Harrison (11), and junior guard Sarah Round (13).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (19-9), rebounds (52-42), and turnovers (14-19).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 37.3 %( 28-75) and the District of Columbia shooting 33.8 % (22-65). The Lightning also held the advantage at the three-point line, with the team having a 21.7 % (5-23) shooting percentage and the Firebirds had a 19.2 %(5-26) shooting percentage.
