Season Stats: DSU’s Hannah Crumlish

Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Delaware State University’s softball team which will continue with the senior utility player Hannah Crumlish.

Crumlish had a .296 batting average, .333 slugging percentage, .309 on-base percentage, six runs, 16 hits, two doubles, one RBI, one walk, 10 strikeouts, and one stolen base in the 20 game season.

On the defensive side, Crumlish had 19 catches for 19 putouts and a fielding percentage of 1.000.

The Clermont, Florida native was among the best in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in batting average, as Crumlish placed 23rd with .296. The DSU senior also placed 14th in the MEAC in hits with 16.

Hornets Open Season With 8-5 Loss Vs Northern Illinois

DSU opened the season at the Coastal Carolina Battle at the Beach tournament which did not go the way the team wanted as they took their first loss of the season to Northern Illinois with an 8-5 score.

Crumlish had one run, two hits, one RBI, two doubles, and stole a base in the loss. On the defensive side, Crumlish had three catches for three putouts.

Delaware State Falls 9-1 To Campbell

Campbell would score seven runs in the bottom of the first inning which would lead the team to a 9-1 win over Delaware State.

Crumlish had one run and a strikeout in the loss.

DSU Gets Outmuscled by Charlotte In 14-3 Loss 

The Hornets offense just could not match the firepower of Charlotte’s, as the team loss 14-3 on February 23rd.

Crumlish had one run and one hit in the loss.

Delaware State Earns First Win Of The Season Vs Fairleigh Dickinson

DSU would score a combined four runs in the second and third inning of this game to come out with a 4-2 win.

Crumlish had one run, two hits and a strikeout in the first win of the season. On the defensive side, Crumlish had three catches for three putouts.

DSU Gets Swept By Marist

On March 7th, Marist would be down in this game by four runs in the fourth inning but the team would three runs in the fifth, one in the seventh and the winning run in the ninth to give a 5-4 loss to Delaware State.

Crumlish had one run, one walk, and struck out in the loss. On the defensive side, Crumlish had two catches for two putouts.

Fairleigh Dickinson Hands Hornets A 4-3 Loss In Season Finale

On the final day of the shortened season, DSU would lose a heartbreaker as the team was in this game until the very end but Fairleigh Dickinson would come up with a 4-3 win.

Crumlish had one run in the final game of the season, n the defensive side, Crumlish had two catches for two putouts.
