University of Delaware first baseman Mariah Kondravy was named by the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Player of the Week for her dominant and clutch play this past week. Kondravy was a leading force why the Blue Hens softball team won 4 out of the 5 games last week.
Kondravy had a .444 batting average, team high 8 hits, 3 doubles and 6 RBIs in a double-header vs Villanova.
On Tuesday vs Villanova, Kondravy brought the late game heroics with hitting a 2-run walk off homer in a 5-4 walk off win.
The Bethlehem, Pa. native did not stop with the walk off winners, Kondravy hit a walk off single vs Towson to help the Hens with 5-4 win on Saturday. The junior first baseman then ended the week with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 2 hits in the Blue Hens 4-0 win vs Towson to end the series.
Kondravy is batting .292, 7 doubles ( team high), 18 RBIs (team high) and has started all 25 games as first baseman this season.
This is Kondravy’s first CAA Softball Player of the Week honor this season and second of her career.
The Blue Hens have been racking this award up recently, this is the second time in three weeks a Blue Hen won this award. The other Hen was Anna Steinmetz on March 13th.
