Are you looking for some family fun free entertainment to enjoy with the whole family? Well, University of Delaware has what you are looking for. The Blue Hens athletic teams will head down state to Cape Henlopen High School for the 5th annual Downstate Day on April 22nd. The day will include free entertainment from the interactive fan zone to youth skills sessions with Delaware student-athletes.
The Fan Zone will feature entertainment for all ages including music, prize drawings, giveaways, inflatable interactive, bounce houses, face painting, and photos with Blue Hens mascot YoUDee. The Fan Zone will be open from 2-4 pm on the day of the event.
If you are looking to get your kid into sports, well boys and girls from the ages of 5-12 are invited to register in advance to participate in free football, soccer, basketball, field hockey or cheerleading skills fun.
University of Delaware Student-Athletes and coaches from the school’s football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, field hockey and spirit squad to provide fun insight of each sport with the registered kid participants for about 45 to 60 minutes. Each participant will receive a free youth t-shirt.
This event is a very popular event for the Downstate Day and will fill up fast. This a first come and first serve event and day of registration will not be available.
Blue Hen student athletes and coaches including first year football head coach Danny Rocco will be at a meet and greet autograph session at Cape Henlopen’s football field. The meet and greet autograph session will start at 4 pm. Go to www.bluehens.com to find more details about the session.
If you cannot make it downstate for this event, do not fret because University of Delaware will be hosting their annual Blue Hens Fandemonium VIII on May 6th from 4-7pm at the UD Athletics Complex. The event will include Select a seat inside Delaware Stadium and the Fan Zone with music, food, inflatable interactives, face painting and a lot more family fun activities.
Then during all this fun, the Delaware football team will play their annual Blue-White Delaware spring scrimmage in Delaware Stadium starting at 6 pm.
