Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Wesley’s women’s basketball team which will conclude with senior forward Jourdyn Beverly.

Beverly averaged 6.9 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game in 11.1 minutes per game in 23 games.

The Bowie, Maryland native was among the best in the Atlantic East Conference in scoring as Beverly was in the top 30 ( ranked 26th) with 6.9 points per game.

Game One: 83-49 Loss To King’s College

Wesley fought hard but came up short to get an opening day win as the team lost 83-49 to King’s College.

Beverly had two points and two rebounds in the opening game for Wesley.

Two Games Later, the Same Result As Wesley Gets A 63-41 Win Vs Lehman

The Wolverines bounced back after the tough loss against Delaware Valley with a 63-41 win against Lehman.

Beverly had two points, one rebound, and one block in the win.

Back To Back Wins For Wesley Vs Medgar Evers

December was a good month for Wesley as the team captured three wins in that month and two of the three wins would come from playing Medgar Evers.

In the first game against Medgar Evers, Wesley defeated the team 58-56.

The second game against Medgar Evers was not close at all, as the Wolverines defeated the team 52-34.

Beverly had nine points, three rebounds, and one block in the second game against Medgar Evers.

Wesley Gets Fifth Win At Home Vs Cairn

Wesley would lose a close one to St. Mary’s (Md.) but the team would rebound in their next game and get a 60-36 win against Cairn.

Beverly had nine points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the win.

Beverly Scores Season-High 19 Points In Loss Vs Marywood

Wesley’s losing streak would hit four after the team lost to Marywood 85-57 at home on January 18th.

The Wesley forward scored a season-high 19 points in the loss.

Wolverines Break Nine Game Losing Streak In Win Vs Valley Forge

Wesley’s last win of the season came against Valley Forge as the score was 67-43.

Beverly would have 14 points, seven rebounds, and one block in the win.

Beverly Ends The Season With A Double-Double In Loss Vs Gwynedd Mercy

The Wolverines would end the season with an 85-60 loss against Gwynedd Mercy on February 22nd.

The Wesley senior would record a double-double in this game as Beverly had 19 points and 12 rebounds.
