Season Stats: Wesley’s Katelyn Watson

Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Wesley’s women’s basketball team which continues with junior forward Katelyn Watson.

Watson averaged 4.8 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game in 27.8 minutes per game in 24 games.

The junior forward was among the best in the Atlantic East Conference in rebounding as Watson was ranked in the top 20 ( ranked 17th) with 4.8 rebounds per game.

Game Log

Game One: 83-49 Loss To King’s College

November 8th was the opening day of the season for Wesley but it did not go their way as they loss 83-49 to King’s College.

Watson did not score any points but she contributed in other ways in the game as the Wesley forward had four rebounds and one steal.

First Win Of The Season: 53-35 Win Vs Lehman

On November 16th, Wesley earned their first win of the season against Lehman with a dominating 53-35 win.

Watson had six points and two rebounds.

Two Games Later, Same Result As Wesley Gets A 63-41 Win Vs Lehman

Wesley loved playing Lehman this season, as the Wolverines beat them in both matchups. In the second meeting, Wesley beat Lehman 63-41.

Watson had a season-high 13 rebounds in this win.

Wesley Falls To Arcadia 59-38 In First Game of December

Wesley would start the month of December with a 59-38 loss to Arcadia.

The Wesley junior would score a season-high 11 points in this game.

Back To Back Wins For Wesley Vs Medgar Evers

After two straight losses, the Wolverines were ready to get back on the right track and the team did just that as they won two straight games against Medgar Evers.

The first game against Medgar Evers, Wesley defeated the team 58-56.

Watson had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and one steal in the win.

The second game against Medgar Evers was not close at all, as the Wolverines defeated the team 52-34.

The Wesley forward would have five points and nine rebounds.

Wesley Gets Fifth Win At Home Vs Cairn

Wesley would lose a close one to St. Mary’s (Md.) but the team would rebound in their next game and get a 60-36 win against Cairn.

Watson had seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the win.

Wolverines Break Nine Game Losing Streak In Win Vs Valley Forge

The Wolverines last win of the season would come against Valley Forge with a score of 67-43.

Watson did not score any points in this game but she did her work on the boards as she had five rebounds. The Glen Burnie, Maryland native also had three assists and one steal in the win.
