Chuck Delagol and La’Dae Boykin of Wilmington University both put forth dominating performances last week, that the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference named the two student-athletes Player of the Week.
Chuck Delagol pitched two strong starts for the Wildcats, helping his team to a 6-3 record on the week. Thanks to his efficient week, Delagol was named CACC Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Delagol was lights out in his two starts last week, going 2-0 and striking out 12 batters in his 11.1 innings of work. The Warminster, Pa. native did not give up any runs in his two starts, helping the Wildcats get a 1-0 win vs Philadelphia and 2-0 win vs Concordia.
The junior pitcher is 3-0 with 25 Ks, 0.71 ERA, and 25.1 innings pitched on the season.
Then there is La’Dae Boykin who helped the women’s lacrosse team to a 2-0 record last week with her dominant performance.
Boykin was named CACC Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats’ offense with 12 goals and four assists for 16 points in both Wilmington’s wins last week. In the victories over Nyack and Post, the Edgewood, Md native scored 8 points in each win, six draw controls, two ground balls, and one caused turnover.
Boykin had a career-high in goals in the win vs Nyack, where she scored seven goals on the day.
The junior midfielder is third in the CACC with 24 goals and is tied for third in the conference with 28 points.
