It was announced Monday by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference that Tyaire Ponzo-Meek was named CACC co-player of the week. Meek has helped Wilmington to two big wins in the last week, one against Millersville and the other against CACC rival Philadelphia University. Ponzo-Meek was honored alongside Felician’s Terrell Spaulding who has two big games himself as he averaged a double-double in his last two games.
Ponzo-Meek’s scoring ability is definitely one of his strengths and he has shown that throughout the week with 3 games he scored in double digits and led the team. He had 18 vs Shippensburg, 25 vs Millersville ( career-best), and 17 vs Philadelphia.
The 5-11 guard averaged 20 points per game for Wilmington and shot 42% from the field throughout the week.
Ponzo-Meek also ranks fourth in the CACC for putting in 20.4 points per game this season.
