The Wilmington University bats were on fire today as the team scored 28 runs in the sweep of their doubleheader against the Felician University Golden Falcons. Wilmington won the first game 18-2 and was victorious in the second game 10-4.
We will talk about both games, but first up is the early 18-2 winner!
Game One stats:
RBIs: Sophomore first baseman Sara Miller led the team in RBIs in the win with five.
Runs: Sophomore pitcher/second baseman Haley Downin led the team in runs scored with three.
Hits: Wilmington had a total of 20 hits in the game. Downin led the team in hits in the win with four.
Stolen bases: Sophomore third baseman Lexi Moore, freshman catcher/outfielder Tristyn Stewart, graduate student outfielder Courtney Dellinger each stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel went five innings, gave up four hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, eight strikeouts, and earned the win.
