The Delaware State baseball team earned a split over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks by winning the second game of the doubleheader on Friday 5-4. The Hornets lost the first game of the doubleheader to the Shore Hawks 15-0.
Let’s talk about the 5-4 winner!

Game Stats:
RBIs: Senior shortstop Alan Alonso and Freshman left fielder Alec Rodriguez led the team in RBIs with two.
Runs: Alonso led the team in runs scored with two.
Hits: Delaware State had five hits in the win.
Home Runs: Alonso hit a two-run homer in the Hornets’ win.
Stolen bases: Alonso (1), and sophomore infielder Trey Paige (1) each stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, sophomore starting pitcher Peter Carrea went five innings, gave up ten hits, four runs, three earned runs, three walks, and hit a batter.
Junior pitcher CJ Loper relieved Carrea, as he went three innings, two walks, three strikeouts, and earned the win.
