The Delaware State University’s baseball team earned their first conference (MEAC) victory of the season on Saturday with a 7-4 win over the Coppin State University Eagles. Delaware State spilt the doubleheader with Copper State on Saturday as the team lost the first game 10-7.
Let’s talk about the 7-4 winner!

Game Stats:
RBIs: Freshman left fielder Alec Rodriguez led the Hornets in RBIs in the win with two.
Runs: Senior shortstop Alan Alonso and sophomore outfielder Jordan King were the co-leaders for scoring runs for the Hornets with two.
Hits: Delaware State had seven hits in the win. Junior centerfielder Mike Worthington led DSU in hits in the game with two.
Stolen bases: Alonso (1), first baseman Krew Bouldin (1), Rodriguez (1), sophomore designated hitter Evan Harris (1) each stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, junior pitcher Jordan Haddaway went 6.2 innings, gave up nine hits, four runs, four earned runs, two walks, five strikeouts, hit two batters, two home runs, and earned the win.
Sophomore pitcher Peter Carrea came in to seal the win, as he went 0.1 innings and earned the save.
