The Wilmington University softball team offense was on fire Tuesday, as they scored 22 runs in their sweep of Chestnut Hill College Griffins. Wilmington won the first game 8-1 and then was victorious in the second game 14-2.
We will talk about both games, but first up is the early 8-1 winner!
Game stats:
RBIs: Sophomore outfielder Taylor Gillis and freshman catcher Tristyn Stewart led the team in RBIs with two.
Runs: Freshman outfielder Gabbie Saucedo led the team in runs scored with two.
Hits: Wilmington had a total of 13 hits in the game. Gillis led the team in hits with three.
Stolen bases: Sophomore third baseman/outfielder Sara Miller (2), sophomore shortstop Lexi Moore each stole a base in the win.
Pitching: On the pitching side, starting pitcher, Sophomore Renamarie Rocha went 3.1 innings, gave up three hits, one run, one earned run, two walks, and four strikeouts.
Freshman pitcher Kylee Gunkel went 3.2 innings, gave up four hits, and five strikeouts.
