The University of Delaware women’s basketball team won their seventh game of the season on Sunday with an 86-84 overtime win over the College of Charleston Cougars. The thrilling win gives Delaware their first win in conference play (CAA).
There was also a milestone set in this big-time conference win as Head Coach Natasha Adair earned the 150th win of her coaching career. Congrats Coach Adair!!
The leading scorer in the game for the Blue Hens was senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey, who had 22 points.
Redshirt junior forward Ty Battle recorded a double-double in the win with 21 points and 22 rebounds. Yes, 22 rebounds, as Battle was locked on the boards all afternoon in this win.
Battle was not the only Hen to record a double-double, as Graduate Student forward Lizzie Oleary had 20 points and 14 rebounds in the win.
Sophomore guard Tyi Skinner also scored in double-digits in the game with 11 points.
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (42-34), points off turnovers (25-11), second-chance points (28-14), rebounds (58-45), assists (15-12), turnovers (15-17), and steals (9-6).
Blue Hens was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game as the team shot 75.6 %(31-41), and the College of Charleston shot 61.9 % (13-21).
