Cooper scores 24 in Wilmington University’s 80-71 win over Holy Family

The Wilmington University men’s basketball team earned their third win of the season on Saturday, as the team defeated the Holy Family University Tigers 80-71.

The leading scorer for the Wildcats in this win was Redshirt senior guard Kameron Cooper, who recorded 24 points.

Two other Wildcats scored in double digits, which were junior guard Justin Thomas (17), and graduate student guard Danny Walsh (17).

Junior guard Randy Rickards led the team in rebounds with ten.

WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off of turnovers (16-9), second-chance points (14-11), rebounds (37-35), and steals (9-5).

The Wildcats also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 47.1%(24-51) and with Holy Family shooting 39.1%(25-64). Wilmington was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game as the team shot 81.8% (27-33), and the Tigers shot 63.6% (14-22).
