The University of Delaware’s football team ended a three-game losing streak on Saturday, as the team defeated the Dixie State University Trailblazers 17-10.
The offensive standouts in the game for the Blue Hens were Redshirt junior quarterback Zach Gwynn, Graduate student running back Dejoun Lee, Redshirt junior quarterback Anthony Paoletti, and Redshirt senior wide receiver Thyrick Pitts.
Gwynn went 19 for 28 with 215 passing yards.
Lee rushed for 100 yards on 23 carries, and one touchdown.
Paoletti rushed for 25 yards on six carries, and one touchdown.
Pitts had seven receptions for 81 yards.
On the defensive side, the standouts for the Hens were senior defensive back Kedrick Whitehead, junior defensive end Chase McGowan, and senior defensive back Justis Henley, and Graduate student defensive back Andrew Pawlowski.
Whitehead was the leader in total tackles for the Blue Hens with ten.
McGowan had five tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
Henley had four tackles, and one forced fumble.
Pawlowski had four tackles and one interception.
