NCAA II Tournament East Regional: Heskett shines in Lightning’s 3-0 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas

The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team is moving on in the NCAA II Tournament East Regional as they defeated the Saint Thomas Aquinas College Spartans 3-0 on Thursday.

Game Stats

The RBIs in the game came from junior left fielder Bryan Bell (2), and sophomore shortstop Mason Maxwell (1).

Three Lightning players had runs in the win, which were Bell (1), junior center fielder Trent Hearn (1), and senior catcher Ivan Solis(1).

The Goldey-Beacom hitters gained eight hits in the win, which were Maxwell (4), Bell (2), Hearn (1), and freshman right fielder Kyle Walker (1).

Maxwell stole a base in the win.

On the pitching side, junior pitcher Jake Heskett pitched seven innings, walked six batters, four strikeouts, and earned the win.

Senior pitcher Jake Kinsell closed out the game as he went two innings, gave up two hits, three strikeouts, and earned the save.
