The University of Delaware football team opened up their spring season with a bang on Saturday as the team defeated the University of Maine Black Bears 37-0.
The offensive standouts in the game for the Blue Hens were redshirt junior quarterback Nolan Henderson, redshirt senior running back Dejoun Lee, and senior wide receiver Gene Coleman II.
Henderson went 16 for 24 with 146 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Blue Hens quarterback also rushed for nine yards and scored one rushing touchdown.
Lee rushed for 85 yards on 14 attempts and had one rushing touchdown. The Blue Hens running back also ran back a kickoff for 87 yards for a touchdown.
Coleman II had five receptions for 48 yards and one receiving touchdown.

On the defensive side, the standouts for the Hens were redshirt sophomore linebacker Liam Trainer, junior linebacker Johnny Buchanan, redshirt sophomore linebacker Joe Zubillaga and sophomore defensive end Chase McGowan.
Trainer was the co-leader in total tackles for the Hens with five.
Buchanan was the other leader in total tackles for the Hens with five.
Zubillaga had four tackles and forced a fumble.
McGowan had one tackle and forced a fumble.
