The Delaware Technical Community College’s baseball team opened up their season on Sunday with a two-game series against Anne Arundel Community College. Delaware Tech did not get the win in the first game as Anne Arundel won 11-9. Del-Tech did get the win in the second game as the team won 4-3 in eight innings.

The RBIs in the game for Delaware Technical Community College came from sophomore centerfielder Dominic Fernicola (1), sophomore first baseman Matthew Marandola (1), freshman third baseman Matthew Rodriguez (1), and freshman DH Christopher Friend (1).
The runs in the game for Delaware Tech came from Marandola (1) and freshman second baseman Michael Pagliei (3).
Five Del-Tech players had a hit in the win, which were Fernicola (1), Marandola (1), Pagliei (1), Rodriguez (1), and Friend (1).
Marandola hit a solo home run in the 4-3 win.
On the pitching side, freshman pitcher Nicholas Carey went seven innings, gave up four hits, three runs, one earned run, two walks, struck out nine batters, and earned the win.
Freshman pitcher Brandon Schlabach came in the game to relieve Carey as he went one inning, one strikeout, and earned the save.
