Collins & Harris combine for 25 points in Hornets 60-45 win vs Coppin State

The Delaware State University women’s basketball team earned their first win of the new year on Tuesday with a 60-45 win against their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rivals, the Coppin State University Eagles.

The leading scorer of the game for the Hornets was senior guard/forward Sharajah Collins, who had 14 points.

Graduate Student guard Daije Harris also scored in double-digits in the win as she had 11 points.

Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (26-24), points off turnovers (28-10), second-chance points (21-12), bench points (32-15), assists (9-5), turnovers (13-33) and steals (9-7).

DSU also outshot Coppin State in free throw percentage as Hornets had a 64.7 % (11-17) and the Eagles had a 50.0 % (6-12) percentage.
