Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s softball team which will start with the senior first baseman Kasey Goshorn.
Goshorn had a batting average of .435, a slugging percentage of .609, an on-base percentage of .519, two runs, 10 hits, one double, four walks, and one home run in the shortened eight-game season. The Goldey-Beacom senior led the team in hits, RBIs, walks ( tied for first), home runs ( tied for first), and one base percentage.
The Lightning first baseman had solid stats on the fielding side this season, as she had 34 putouts, one error, and .971 fielding percentage.
The Salisbury, Maryland native was among the best in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in batting average, as Goshorn placed in the fifth spot with .435. The senior first baseman also was in the fourth spot in the CACC for on-base percentage with .519. The Lightning senior was also placed fourth in the conference in slugging percentage with .609.
Goshorn was also among the best in fielding in the CACC, as she landed in the top 20 ( ranked 16th) with 34 putouts.

Game Log
Lightning Fall 9-3 To Shippensburg In Season Opener
Goldey-Beacom would open their season up by falling 9-3 to Shippensburg on February 14th.
Goshorn had one hit and was walked once in the game. On the defensive side, Goshorn had six catches for six putouts.
Back To Back Losses For Goldey-Beacom
The second game of the season would end just like the first one did for the Lightning with a 9-1 loss to Seton Hill.
Goshorn had two hits, one RBI and one walk in the game. On the defensive side, Goshorn had four catches for four putouts.
Goldey Picks Up First Win Vs Millersville
Goldey-Beacom would earn the first win of the season on February 15th with an 8-1 victory over Millersville.
Goshorn had one run, two hits and one RBI in the win. On the defensive side, Goshorn had three catches for three putouts and a double play.
Goldey-Beacom Fall 7-4 Vs Southern Connecticut
The Lightning would lose a tough 7-4 game to Southern Connecticut on February 16th.
Goshorn had one hit, one RBI and one double in the loss. On the defensive side, Goshorn had tied her season-high for putouts with six.
Lightning Lose 5-0 In First Game With West Chester
Goldey struggled in the first meeting with West Chester as the team took a 5-0 loss on March 9th.
Goshorn had one hit in the loss. On the defensive side, Goshorn had tied her season-high for putouts with six. The senior first baseman also turned a double play in the win.
