Season Stats: Goldey-Beacom’s Braydee Whitman

Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s softball team which will continue with sophomore infielder Braydee Whitman.

Whitman had .462 batting average, four runs, six hits, three RBIs, two doubles, one home run, one walk, a .846’slugging percentage, and .500 on-base percentage in seven games this season. The sophomore infielder led the Lightning in slugging percentage, batting average, and doubles in the 2020 season.

On the fielding side of the ball, Whitman had 13 putouts, seven assists, one error and a fielding percentage of .952 in the season.

Game Log

Lightning Fall 9-3 To Shippensburg In Season Opener

On February 14th, Goldey-Beacom would open their season with a 9-3 loss to Shippensburg.

Whitman had one run, one hit and one walk in the loss. On the defensive side, Whitman had nine catches for three putouts, five assists, and one error.

Goldey-Beacom Fall 7-4 Vs Southern Connecticut

The Lightning would fall to Southern Connecticut by a score of 7-4 on February 16th.

Whitman had one run, two hits, three RBIs, one double and one home run in the game. On the defensive side, Whitman had two catches for two putouts in the loss.

Goldey Loses Back To Back Games With Loss To Lock Haven

Goldey-Beacom would close the Snowbird Freeze Out with a 6-2 loss by Lock Haven on February 16th.

Whitman had one run, two hits, one double in the loss. On the defensive side, Whitman had four catches for four putouts in the game.

Lightning Lose 5-0 In First Game With West Chester

On March 9th, the Lightning would fall 5-0 to West Chester in the first of two games of that day.

Whitman had one hit in the loss. On the defensive side, Whitman had six catches for four putouts, two assists, and one double play in the game.
