Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s women’s basketball team which will conclude with senior guard Jill Latanowich.

Latanowich averaged 4.5 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game and one assist per game in 20 minutes per game in 27 games this season.

Lightning Fall 77-64 To Chestnut Hill

Goldey Beacom would fall to Chestnut Hill 77-64 in their second game of December. 

Latanowich scored a season-high 13 points in the loss.

Goldey-Beacom Picks Up First Win Vs Wilmington

The Lightning secured their first win of the season on December 21st by winning a close 70-69 game over Wilmington.

Latanowich had 10 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the first win.

Lightning Snap Five Game Losing Streak With Win Vs Nyack

Before the game against Nyack, Goldey-Beacom was riding a five-game losing streak but the team would snap it with a dominating 84-55 win over the Warriors.

Latanowich had two points, two rebounds, three assists and one block in the win.

Back to Back Wins For Goldey With 66-58 Win Over Georgian Court

The Lightning started to find their way as the team would continue to win, as they beat Georgian Court 66-58 on January 21st.

Latanowich had two points, two rebounds and one block in the win.

Lightning Continue To Roll As The Team Wins Third Straight Game

On January 25th, Goldey would win their third straight game as the team defeated Felician 75-59.

The Newtown, Massachusetts native had three points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals in the game.

Four Straight Wins For Goldey-Beacom

The Lightning would continue to strike gold as the team won their fourth straight game as they defeated Bloomfield 68-48 on February 1st.

Latanowich would have eight points and six rebounds in the win.

Goldey Defeats Concordia (N.Y.) 67-54

Goldey-Beacom would pick up a 67-54 win over Concordia (N.Y.) on February 8th.

Latanowich had four points, two rebounds, and four assists in the win.

Goldey-Beacom Earns A 62-60 Win Over Holy Family

It was back to back wins for the Lightning, as the team would earn a tough 62-60 win over Holy family on February 12th.

Latanowich had four points, one rebound and one steal in the game.

Lightning Picks Up Final Home Win Vs Dominican (N.Y.)

Goldey would win their final home game of the season with an 81-62 win over Dominican (N.Y.) on February 15th.

Latanowich had two rebounds and one assist in the win.

Goldey-Beacom Earns Final Win Of The Season Vs Wilmington

The Lightning would earn their last win of the season on the road over Wilmington with a 73-70 score.

The senior guard had two points and one rebound in the final win.
