Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s women’s basketball team which will continue with sophomore guard Lexi Weikert.
Weikert averaged 5.9 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, and 1.3 assists per game in 26.5 minutes per game in 27 games this season.

Lightning Fall 77-64 To Chestnut Hill
Goldey Beacom would fall to Chestnut Hill 77-64 in their second game of December.
Weikert scored a season-high 27 points in the loss.
Goldey-Beacom Picks Up First Win Vs Wilmington
The Lightning would get their first win of the season as the year of 2019 was ending, as the team defeated Wilmington 70-69 on December 21st.
Weikert did not have any points but she contributed in other ways by having four rebounds and one assist in the win.
Lightning Snap Five Game Losing Streak With Win Vs Nyack
Goldey-Beacom had fallen into a bit of a rough patch after their first win of the season as the team would go on to lose five straight games. The Lightning would overcome the losing streak and defeat Nyack handly with an 84-55 score on January 18th.
Weikert had three points, five rebounds, and two assists in the win.
Back to Back Wins For Goldey With 66-58 Win Over Georgian Court
The following week, Goldey-Beacom would add a win to their record as the team defeated Georgian Court 66-58 on January 21st.
Weikert would have seven points, two assists, three rebounds, and one block in the win.
Lightning Continue To Roll As The Team Wins Third Straight Game
The winning momentum just kept rolling along for Goldey-Beacom as the team would win their third straight game on January 25th. The Lightning would beat Felician 75-59.
The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native had 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals in the game.
Four Straight Wins For Goldey-Beacom
Goldey would come home on February 1st but the winning streak would continue as the team would beat Bloomfield 68-48.
Weikert had seven points, eight rebounds, and one assist in the win.
Goldey Defeats Concordia (N.Y.) 67-54
After a tough road loss to the USciences, Goldey-Beacom would come home to pick up a 67-54 win against Concordia (N.Y.).
Weikert had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.
Goldey-Beacom Earns A 62-60 Win Over Holy Family
The Lightning would earn their second straight win by defeating Holy Family 62-60 on February 12th.
Weikert would have six points, four rebounds, and one steal in the game.
Lightning Picks Up Final Home Win Vs Dominican (N.Y.)
Goldey would pick up their last home win of the season against Dominican (N.Y.) with a score of 81-62.
Weikert had seven points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the win.
Goldey-Beacom Earns Final Win Of The Season Vs Wilmington
The final game of the season would end in a victory for the Lightning, as the team pulled out a 73-70 win over in-state rival Wilmington.
The sophomore guard had three points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the final win.
